5Great little tool
By Lannie Rose
This is my original chainsaw. I have a friend who is happy to come over with his gas-powered monster for the heavy obligation stuff. I wanted a light-duty saw so I don’t need to call on my friend for the little stuff. The Greenworks model is perfective for me. I may take care of reasonably thick subdivisions and use it on logs that just don’t want to split. It’s not precisely like a hot knife through butter, but it gets the occupation done. I was a little worried with regards to oiling the chain, and making a huge mess, but the built-in reservoir does a good occupation and scarcely leaks at all.

I wanted to go lithium-ion because it’s the best battery engineering today–if it’s good sufficient for a Tesla roadster, it’s good sufficient for my chainsaw! But Amazon didn’t have the charger, nor could I find it anyplace else. Long story short, I called the Greenworks service dpt and they were competent to send me one right away. So I got my charger, my battery, and my saw, and I’ve been using it all summer. It’s a good product. The battery has sufficient juice to help my log splitting for regarding 45 minutes.. Overall it’s a bit pricier than the NiCad battery products, but of course the battery works in my Greenworks leaf blower too, so it is not bad amortized over multiple tools. I suppose it to last longer than NiCads, too.

1Unreliable product warning
By Susan R. Webb
I purchased this Greenworks lithium ion cordless chain saw a few weeks ago. The one I received did not work; it will not cut even a tiny twig; the chain stops as soon as it touches even very lightly anything at all. It is thence wholly useless even even though brand new and with completely charged battery. Buying this tool is seemingly a gamble; if you’re lucky you’ll get one that works and assorted reviews here are from folks who did. If you are not so lucky, you’ll get one that doesn’t work. Unfortunately Greenworks is not standing behind their product; their counsel to me was that i will have to take this new saw to a fix shop. The client service representative I spoke to was rude and unhelpful and didn’t seem to find having to pay for a repair on a brand new just out of the box tool that had never been employed surprising. I unquestionably won’t be buying any more of their products. I wish I had known how undependable these tools were before I wasted my time researching and ordering this one.

4For a cordless electric chainsaw it works well.
By John R Burroughs
For a cordless electric chainsaw it works great. If compare to a gas then you’ll be dissapointed. Like I’d read for similar craftsman and ryobi models it likewise leaks the bar-chain lubricant so be careful how you store it. For littler limb, pruning I think a hand-held reciprocating saw with a wood blade works better for low to the ground branches. For larger stuff a chainsaw is superior since the chain may cut more quickly through thicker wood than a reciprocating saw (I have used a craftsman pro model that likewise has a 20 volt lithium battery). My only suggestion for betterment is more immediate motion of chain from motor (if possible) and to undertake and make a design that doesn’t leak so much of the chain lubricant. Called oregon chain company and they said this is an s40 10 inch chain, so ought to be easy to replace. I love not having to mix gas-oil and how it just starts up and goes. The lithium battery (got from the trimmer model) actually holds a long charge. Hope it will be durable.
