Great Tool – Fragile Finish

I love my Micra and carry it everywhere, but the fashion colors don’t last. The finish begins to scratch off within a few weeks. Mine employed to be red. Unless you are going to keep it in a velvet case, just buy the silver because that’s what you’ll ultimately have.

Useful but not very durable

I’ve had my Leatherman Micra for when it comes to 5 years now after getting it on a fishing trip. Its extemely utile for everyay things, specially cutting with the scissors. Only two things wrong with this multi tool.

1. If you try to cut something too hard the scissors will kinck.

2. The tweezers are way too flimsy to use purposefully. They are too thin and even bend if you put too much pressure on them.

Other then these two difficulties which you may avoid, the micra is aweinspiring and you will find yourself using it everyday.

USES (and ratings):
Scissors – I use them in regards to each day to cut out paper for school and likewise to open packages. I likewise fetch the micra on fishing trips to cut the line. This is exceedingly useful. 5/5

Tweezers- Too flimsy to use. These thin things wont even understand anything. Getting splinters out of fingers is when it comes to as tough as a occupation as it will handle. 2/5

Ruler- It is not long sufficient and galore of the increments are missing. Not a lot of uses. 1/5

Screwdrivers- Its always handy to have 3 tiny screwdrivers around. I use these often times because I do not have any real screwdrivers that have heads that small. The only problem is that if you try to put too much pressure on them, since there is no lock, they may come foward and pinch your finger. Very convienient though. 4/5

Clip Point Knife- Comes sharp. Nothing genuinely special or different. Its small, but what did you expect? Handy when needed. 4/5

Bottle Opener- Now who is going to have a bottle opener when you need it? When away from home, the prospect you’re going to have a bottle opener is very slim. The probability you will have your micra is not. Sheer convienience, and also doubles s an XS screwdriver. 5/5

Nail Cleaner/File- The file may smooth down all of the rough spots and hangnails after a hard day of work. This may sound womanly, but I hate hangnails. My fingernails must be smooth or it’s distracting for me. The nail cleaner may reach underneath your nail to scrape out all of the dirt and crap. 4/5

Overall 4/5 for Its size and value. My tweezers are now out of symmetry and the scissors have knicks, because of cutting things too hard. Just make sure when/if you get one, cut SOFT things, and don’t try to do awful things with the tweezers.

A good tool set that could be perfected

This is a sturdy tool and each of the tools it holds is utile as a small, close-at-hand substitute for something that would be too huge to carry around all the time.

As with most of these types of combo-pocket-tools, the ruler is of negligible value.

The others are all utile and made from high quality stainless steel.

The scissors could be made much much better altho if the two halves were joined with a screw, as more pricey scissors in general are, rather than a rivet. The blades tend to splay rather than cut, and this worsens over time as the rivet wears and loosens. So the scissors become fundamentally useless. With a screw rather of a rivet, one could adjust the tightness as necessary. Also, because a rivet is used, one can not take the scissor blades apart to resharpen them. So this likewise shortens the utile life of the scissors.

Using screw rather of a rivet would increase the price. Perhaps it’s best to just consider the Micra a tool that one disposes and replaces each few months (year?) when the scissors become too seriously worn. At twenty bucks, that not out of the question.

Note that, as with all pocket knives, screwdrivers, etc. that are not true “lock-back” types, the tool may fold over while you are using it and harm your flesh. A more secure (a true) locking mechanism would be a vast improvement.
