Can’t stand up to me.

Monarch 400

Got my monarch 400 on a gift package, came bundled with a leatherman fuse multi tool. Per package both items were made in china. No biggie I though, it’s a leatherman after all! I guess this was done to reduce cost and increase profit. But if the monarch I got is anything to go by this came at the cost of quality. I’ve had it on me for two weeks now carrying it in my front pocket with a fresh battery. Needless to say it quit working already, with less than 10 minutes of use. It might just be me, but my train of thought on flash lights is they have to be ultra authenti anything less is not worth my time. I will keep putting my cash on led lenser, fenix and surefire.

Very bright and lasting flashlight.

I got this flashlight as a gift, a portion of a 2 set flash light and mutitool set.

This flashlight is a terrific source of light. For me, as a pretty normal guy, not one thing special, using the same-o flashlights everyone else uses from the 99 cents store, and then suddenly, daytime in a tube. The flashlight was very bright, it lit up each nook and cranny darkness was hiding from me. You do not want to look at the business end of this thing.

The battery life was fine, I didn’t replace it till 3 months later, with moderate use. (Maybe 3 minutes total a day?)

The durability was super-great, it felt solid, like it belonged in your hand. The metal was a sort of brushed texture, and made it feel ‘good’ and fresh, new. Leatherman had a good idea with the metal, it gives you a good grip, and and makes it look good. (No crazy finger prints like a shiny plastic/metal 99 cent store one)

Sadly, I lost this flashlight a few months ago, found it again 1 month ago, and turns out I left the battery inside, and it burst inside. I was capable to remove the exploded battery, and get a new battery in there, and with numerous cleaning, I got it working again.

Overall, actually bright for it is size, battery life is super, and durability is exceptional, it is a good buy.
