Little Giant Book Card Tricks

There are a lot of easy card tricks, but I believe this one is probably the best one for a beginning magician to learn. It is very simple and with just a little bit of showmanship, may look very impressive. The trick requires that the magician gains noesis of the top card of the deck. This may be done in a number of ways. You may look at it before you begin the trick without letting your audience know. Or, you could look at the bottom card and shuffle it to the top. Or, if you are exceptionally daring, you could distract your audience to concede yourself time to sneak a peek at the top card whilst their attention is someplace else.

Once you recognise the top card, you ask the audience to think of what ever the top card is. For instance, if the card is the Ace of Spades, say to your audience, “Now, I need everyone here to concentrate very hard on the Ace of Spades!” From personal experience, one way to heighten this trick is to make it sound like you are just thinking of a card at random by keeping on to the word “the” and pausing for a beat before you say “Ace of Spades.” This makes it sound more casual and the audience will be less distrustful that it has been set up.

This next share is where you need a volunteer. First you need to be keeping the in your right hand with the long edge of the cards resting along the base of your fingers and the top of the deck (on a popular bicycle deck, this is the side with a red or blue design) facing the heel of your palm. The left hand will grip the two shorter sides of the deck. You will have to be keeping the deck beauteous tight. With your right thumb you will take the corner of the deck nearest to the viewer and bend it so the cards release like you were flipping a flip book, except the picture is the same on each page!

Do this again, except tell the volunteer to stick his finger in the deck while you are doing it. Remind everyone to be concentrating on the Ace of Spades while you do this and tell the volunteer to undertake to pick out the right card. When he sticks his finger in the deck, you pull the deck away a little, but keep the separation among the two parts. As you lift the top half of the deck from the bottom half, you are going to strength the top card to move from the top part of the deck in your left hand to the bottom percentage of the deck in your right hand. This is a very quick motion and, when done correctly, is undetectable by the humane eye. To do it, you merely employ pressure to the top of the deck with the middle finger of your right hand as you lift the top portion of the deck away. This will leave the top card (the card you told every one to think about) on top of the percentage of the deck where the volunteer put his finger.

Ask him to flip that card over, and everyone will be amazed!

There are assorted ways to heighten this trick through showmanship. For instance, you may skip the part where you ask the audience to think with regards to the Ace of Spades. Then when the volunteer flips of the card, you may take it and tear it isolated or light it on fire. After it is destroyed, you disclose a second Ace of Spades you stored in your shoe. Except the audience will think you restored the firstborn card!
