Works weel and built weel, but depth of water is a concern

There is perfectly not one thing faulty with this pump float switch. It works as advertised, but there are two things to keep in mind: (1) It is a mechanical switch and (2) the mechanical switch means that the float will have to travel to a reasonably high position before the switch is activated. Minimum depth of water to activate the float is around 9″, and this means the minimum depth to deactivate approximately 2″. Put another way, the lowest water mark you may achieve in order to activate the pump is approximately 9″, and 2″ to deactivate it. If you need the water level lower than 2″, or the greatest or most complete or best possible water level must be beneath 9″, then this float will not work.
