From the AuthorThere are numerous ultrasound physics books that either overshoot or undershoot the intended goals of the reader. In addition, there are books that are very easy to read, but stop short of building the noesis necessary to demonstrate competence on a credentialing exam. More importantly, these books fall short of imbuing the reader with the cognition necessary to improve patient care. By writing this book in three dissimilar levels, I am hoping to reach out to a wider audience, increasing noesis for both the experienced and the neophyte in ultrasound. I have chosen to give rise to a book that takes a student through the basi level and beyond with a clear path to the psychological result of perception learning and reasoning necessary to demonstrate competency at the credentialing exam level. I hope I have written a book that does not presume so much noesis that students become overwhelmed and are frighted to utilize the text, but on the other hand pushes and challenges the student to proceed learning. In essence, I have tried to write this book so that each level becomes suitable as the reader’s psychological result of perception learning and reasoning grows.

I believe the firstborn step to noesis is a unfeigned assessment of where you are, where you want to be, and what path you are more than willing to take to get there.

A must for sonographers!!

This text must be adopted by all Diagnostic Ultrasound schools.
This is an worthful text for both those wishing to comprehend ultrasound and those preparing for their board exams. The text is organized in a way to meet anyones learning style with a large total of questions and a very well done CD.

Failed the test with this book

Yupp, I failed it. Too much elaborated data that confuses the heck out of you. The actual test has a lot of simple vocabulary that this book was not capable to convey to you. It is a good book if you just want to read something (on your spare time, which I do not have) for your C.E’s. I trusted this thing 100% that it will deliver good results but wrong! Do not trust this book if you are taking your SPI, read and review something else, because 3 of us that have this book all failed and I told others to review something else before taking their exams. Good Luck everyone! Now, I’m back to square 1. I am so crazy of myself for trusting this book. I saw that someone wants to use it for bonfire, let me know, I want to join in…..

Hard to understand

I think this book is Ok to learn ultrasound physics. We are using it in our class right now. We went through and did all of level one now we are going back and doing level two/three. I think Miele is a very very smart guy. A lot of things he seems to go way more in depth then what I believe we will need. My teacher swears by the book though. I guess we will see when it comes time for all of us to take our boards
