This audio Bible is produced with state of the art audio technology. Including sound effects and an initial musical score. This is a new experience in audio Bible world like none before. And in truth it is genuinely like not one thing you have experienced before as I am intimate with the New King James (NKJV) by Stephen Johnston and of course the timeless Alex Scourby King James (KJV) Reading of the bible but neither of those may compare to the rich and engrossing special importance and significance on God’s word that The Word of Promise offers you. It comes in assorted packages such as The New Testament, The Old Testament, The Next Generation New Testament (which features scores of younger actors to appeal to teens and children reading from the International Children’s bible), as well as the finish set Word of Promise which has both new and old testaments! There is even a special edition Word of Promise which features a reading of 50 Psalms called “The Gift of Psalms”. We are planning on reviewing these all here for you so that you may be informed and commence a deeper journeying with the Word of God through the Word of Promise.

So you heard regarding the Word of Promise Audio Bible but you are not so sure of whether or not to get it. I comprehend I was there but I begun to observe how intention my children were on listening and looking at things that I decisive that this had to be a great resource to get my boys (and myself) drenched in the Word of God. I not long ago purchased (yes I actually purchased it galore reviewers got theirs for free from the marketer but I purchased mine) The Word of Promise from Remnant Publications. Thomas Nelson put this thing together and boy did they ever do a outstanding occupation with an audio bible here.

The Word of Promise offers a multi-voiced, scripted dramatization of the New King James Version (NKJV) of the bible. It features a wondrous cast of actors, an original music score, and unbelievable feature film quality sound effects that George Lucas could envy. This world-class production makes you feel like you’re in truth there with Jesus and His disciples. The software has multiple purposes for one you may listen in your car, on your MP3 player, with your family or little group to gain a new perspective of the Bible and perhaps a richer experience.

Knowing that there are a good deal of audio bibles out there I want to point out the main divergence amid most of those and this one. There is even a particular edition Word of Promise which features a reading of 50 Psalms called “The Gift of Psalms”. In addition to this only one person is reading on most audio bibles where this is completely acted out word for word with music and sound effects. But I must say with multiple voices you get mixed results as to who you like and don’t like. I rather take delight in the Visual Bible and they have great voices for Jesus in both the Gospel of John and that of the Gospel of Matthew, so when I listen Jim Caviezel I just do not get the same experience. Not to say he does a bad occupation but he just is not the best that’s all.

I had a real easy time ripping it to my hard drive so that I could put the mp3′s on my Sony Walkman Mp3 player (which by the way has splendid noise canceling headphones). If you get the finish CD version of the Word of Promise than you get a DVD with some behind the scenes action which includes footage from the recording studio and consultations with the actors and crew. (This is also with my MP3 version as well) You get to listen to them relate how making Word of Promise and being involved with this project in truth affected their lives. The DVD likewise includes Michael W. Smith’s song, The Promise.

2Finally NKJV for the Kindle …. But no chapter navigation
By Charlie Crusan
I have various Bible translations on my Kindle (NIV, NET, ESV, NKJV) and I waited for months for the publisher (Thomas Nelson) to at last release the Kindle edition of the NKJV. I went so far as to write to the publisher and was told that they were taking time to make sure they got it just right. The other translations have the table of contents setup so that at the beginning of each Bible book the chapters have links so that you may jump to them. With the NKJV Kindle edition there are no chapter links so to get to Isaiah Chapter 50 you have to page through until you get there. To make matters worse, you can’t tell what chapter you are in except on the primary page of each. (see the NET Bible which has chapter and verse notation.

5Recently Updated in October 2009!!!!!!
By M. Smith
This NKJV for the Kindle was lately altered in October 2009 to repair a heap of of the formatting issues present in the former version as well as enabling chapter navigation. One word of caution when it comes to chapter navigation is that it works very well for me with the Old Testament but not so well with the New Testament (would take too long to explain). At any rate, I use this Kindle version as my each day reader and use 4 book marks to pick up where I last left off: 1. In the Old Testament 2. Book of Psalms. 3. Book of Proverbs. 4. New Testament.

3Flimsy cover – not real leather
By toddeus
The cover is “leatherette” or galore such product. Definitely NOT what I envision by the words “Leather Bound.” Very flimsy. A good hard bound copy would fare better. The edges were a bit cracked on arrival. The price is good. You get what you recompense for. This is a good Bible to just have around the house for reading & reference, not a take to church each week kind of Bible.
