Jagannath Orbit

Jagannath Orbit

ANIMA MUNDI is a bunch of musicians from Cuba, who have chosen, at the end of the Nineties, to play symphonic Progressive rock music. It’s surely not the easiest place in the world to construct and play this kind of music, so “Jagannath Orbit” in itself deserves attention: the band had to be genuinely patient and brave to have a probability to release this second album. But even if this album was coming from England or Japan, you’d have seen no divergence at all: it’s just a brilliant symphonic rock, ambitious, played with passion, with a good production. English lyrics (and numerous guitar parts) disclose a sure YES influence, together with the major pros of the Seventies. The main thing with regards to ANIMA MUNDI is the sheer beauty of it is melodies, from the primary to the last second, coupled with a great sense of rhythm. You’ll find of course a great deal of finelooking and bombastic keyboards parts, drifting sounds and soli, lyrical guitar parts, a good singer, other instruments such as recorders, bagpipes, clarinet, didgeridoo… That music is perpetually inspired, lively, and coming straight from the heart: what else to ask for ?

4Prog From Cuba That U Must Have!
By Russell Sullins
Anima Mundi is a progressive rock band that happens to hail from Cuba and let me tell you these guys are for real. Some superb prog music from a lot of very gifted guys.Jagganath Orbit is a genuinely nice album full of rich textured classic progressive rock music, great melodies and genuinely reasonably good vocals. They definetley recognise how to make a lot of fine prog music.Fine musicianship and top notch production. Some influences of numerous outstanding legends ie: Yes,Crimson,Hackett,Camel and The Flower Kings.Theres alot to love regarding this band and their music and this is a very good 4 1/2 star album. The song the Rhythm of the Spheres is an closely 17 minute prog epic instrumental that will blow your socks off.Its like Steve Hackett with The Flower Kings doing an instrumental jam.Very good! Highly commend this album as well as their most recent one “The Way”.
