Cobra Pit Bull Relationships Thesis Northwest

Have you ever noticed how galore abusers will fight you to the end for custody and others give it up and walk away? Now this observation may be contrary to mutual understanding by those in the domestic violence divorce circles. However, from the clinical perspective, these are the trends.

In the 90′s Drs. Jacobson and Gottman describe the divergence amid two kinds of batterers. They call one group the Pit Bulls and the other the Cobras. As cited in All But My Soul (J. King, 2001), the distinction amid the two types of batterers is as follows:

Pit Bulls and Child Custody

Pit Bulls normally come from fathers who battered their mothers. They are immature, unpredictable, unrelenting and demanding of changes from their victims. Many of these batterers are more likely to abuse alcohol.

They are with regard to emotions dependent on their wives, and need to control and dominate their partners. They are motivated by fear of abandonment, which formulates jealous rage and a strong need to control their wife’s life.

When they strike, they are highly aroused. This is what mainly distinguishes them from their Cobra counterparts.

Their wives are enraged and feel entrapped. Pit bulls are more comfortable to leave, and are more dangerous after leaving in the long run.

This author observes that when it comes to child custody, Pit Bulls are more likely to give it up than they are to hang on and fight for custody as share of their divorce.

Cobras and Child Custody

Cobras, on the other hand, do not walk away from child custody. They fight to the end oftentimes leaving the mother of their children homeless, penniless and childless. These are the women we see with supervised visitation after divorce from a Cobra abuser.

Cobras many times were maltreated as children by their parents. They are hedonistic, impulsive, antisocial, con artists, and they exploit and manipulate others. Cobras may use or become dependent on illegal drugs.

Their personal commitments are superficial. They do not fear abandonment, but they will not be controlled. Cobras gravely abuse their wives to insure getting what they want when they want it.

When they strike, they are internally calm, contrary to the Pit Bull batterer. Cobras are very frightening, yet captivating to their wives. They are harder to leave, and are more dangerous after leaving in the short run.

Domestic Violence, Cobras and Child Custody

If you are in divorce court with a Cobra batterer, beware of their reputation and prepare for the fight of your life. It is not the children that they seek; it is the conquest. Their divorce war is ofttimes with regards to “saving face,” “getting even” and “coming out on top”-winning or stealing child custody right from under their victimized partner’s arms.

An extraordinary literary and aesthetic achievement

Sue Coe has no competition. One of the most brilliant artists of our time has given us a book that will make you weep–and think. This is the story of one dog’s life, told through a series of letters and illustrations. Pages of detailed, chilling drawings take us through respective subcultures that Pit Bulls have come to know best. The reader travels in Pit’s mind through brutal streets where rape and dog fighting go hand in hand. Pit ends up in a Dickensian shelter, which finally leads to a laboratory where the unimaginable is routine. Don’t be scared–following Pit’s traveling is worth the agony. This little book is like a stick of dynamite. You will never look at another Pit Bull again without a tug of compassion. I just kept reading it over and over.

Pay attention to the message

I have read a lot of reviews on this site, and have to say that numerous are missing the point of this work.The work was based on Hogarth’s Four Stages of Cruelty. The topics that are covered are not just regarding pit bulls or their reputation, or in regards to humane to animal cruelty. While those are the the main reasons galore buy this book, remunerate attention to the other messages that are being sent here. This book discusses vivisection, spousal abuse, gang rape, and the ruination of a humane being. It shows the results of an abusive childhood on one queer boy, who in turn learned that torturing the weak was acceptable. His father (an abusive and angry person) separates him from his dog because the dog couldn’t prove herself in the hunting sport, and leaves her behind. The boy has now lost his only source of ease and morals, and grows up with out them. He goes on to rape a mentally disabled girl “because she’ll never tell” and then become a scientist who’s colleagues tortures the very animal that he found his only solace in as a child. The sarcasm is in the fact that he contracts a deadly virus from an animal that he tortures and dies in very much the same fashion as his beloved dog. There are a good deal of places online where you may exploration this artists work. It’s not just with regards to the Pit bull, or animal cruelty, or any one subject at all. It covers a plethera of difficult topics that are meant to invoke emotions and make people think. I am a proud proprietor of two pit bulls and I am glad that I checked out this book, as it covers so much more than I ever expected.

Finding Empathy…

This book was not just a story regarding the pit bulls “misconception” but of humane “misconception”. I have always believed that man was put on world to take care of animals, not act like one. This book explores just how far people will go to attain dominance and superiority over any person or anything they deem “weaker”…I loved the book and plan to give it as gifts to all I feel “know what empathy might be”.
