No more dog smell

Finally substituted the primary filter that came with my 5 gal Shop Vac with this dry/wet cartridge filter and wondered why I waited so long to do it. I employed my Shop Vac to vacuum the fur my German Shepards left behind in the garage and it use to smell like a dirty dog everytime I turned it on. Now, with the new catridge filter, no more bad smell and my Shop Vac operates at optimal efficiency.

Works great! But so did the Old Style

I like the old distinguished foam wet filter and paper cylinder for arid pickup, plainly because cleanup of the foam filter was so easy and you could get all the gunk out of it. I have used my shop-vac to empty a little manmade water feature with a pond in the backyard. The seaweed groaties washed out of the old foam wet pick up filter completely.
With the new materials being employed for filters on respective equipment, the new multitask (wet/dry) filter is alot more lasting but still harder to clean than the simple foam filter.
There is likewise the extra expense. This type filter costs more initially.
Oh well, the cost of progress, I guess.
All in All, I still think Shop-Vac makes the best shop / wet-dry / worksite vacuum on the market.

Good Filter, but wish it lasted longer

Like most householders I do a assortment of jobs around the house that require respective tools. My wet/dry vac is one of the most necessary tools to me (or more significantly my wife) as it helps me clean up all the messes I make when doing these jobs. This filter does a outstanding occupation when it is new as it keeps all the dirt/sawdust/leaves/etc I pick up with it in the container. However, after using it sporadically over a few months the filter gets clogged with all these respective things, in particular if there is any moisture. When I undertake and clean it out it works ok but not outstanding as it just proceeds to get clogged. Overall it does what it is supposed to I just don’t like replacing the filter each few months….
