The University of Southern Mississippi is located in the medium sized city of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The university is ordinarily referred to as the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. The Golden Eagles is the current mascot and nickname of the University, but this was not always the case.

The school, founded in 1910, has a history of a good deal of dissimilar nicknames allround it is rich history. The initial nickname was the Tigers. The Tigers is a mutual nickname in the southern percentage of the United States where neighboring schools Auburn (located in Alabama) and LSU (located in Louisiana) also have the mutual nickname and mascot of the Tigers.

Following the original Tigers nickname the University of Southern Mississippi swopped to the very distinguishable nickname Normalites (derived from the early name for the university – Mississippi Normal College). From there the nickname changed various times as the school was represented with the names Yellow Jackets, Confederates, and Southerners in that order. It was an alumni/student vote in 1972 that chosen the Golden Eagles name that is still employed to this day.

The students and faculty at the university have gone as far as to give the golden eagle mascot a proper introductory and last name. It is not not common for colleges to give their mascots names, examples include: the University of Florida with Albert the Alligator and Michigan State with their Spartan mascot named Sparty. In the case of Southern Miss the full name of their mascot is Seymour d’Campus. The name Seymour d’Campus is a play on words intended to be read as “see more of the campus.” The progressed name was influenced by the 1984 World’s Fair mascot by a similar name: Seymour d’Fair. The resourceful students and faculty of Southern Miss adapted the World’s Fair mascot name to suit their own agenda.

It will have to come as no surprise that Seymour attends Southern Mississippi sporting events year round and ofttimes makes appearances at university and community events. In addition to public appearances Seymour the Golden Eagle may often be found partaking in television promotions for local businesses. Over the last ten years Seymour has competed in a good deal of national mascot competitions that are designed to select America’s favored collegiate mascots. During the firstborn ten years of the twenty original century Seymour the Golden Eagle made a good deal of appearances in the top twenty results and even most times finished in the top ten with his best showing being a 7th place finish in the 2002 UCA Mascot National competition.

The most famous athlete that Seymour the Golden Eagle cheered on is the long time quarterback of the Green Bay Packers and current Minnesota Viking Brett Favre.

5Good Source for USMLE Step 2 Ck

This 7th edition has a lot of add-in. It covers almost subject I faced in the exam. But you still need UW or Kaplan Bank

3Not good enough
By Tina Wu
While there are not very a heap of resources out there for Step 2, this book is mediocre. The establishment of the book is scattered and index is peculiarly bad. Most of the material is in the book, but it’s hard to find it since the index is terrible. I would not use this as a stand alone study guide. In a lot of instances, it tells you signs and sensations or changes and the diagnosis, but doesn’t mention the treatment (which is exceedingly important in Step 2). It falls short of expected values since First Aid for Step 1 was much much better.

2no better book for now…
By David
I was expecting much after having applied the 1st aid step1 book for the primary exam, and was in fact rather disappointed. I wrote once or twice to the editor to let them know a heap of missing chapters like… Chronic kidney sickness or rhabdomyolysis (super high yield), and a few other (less important) chapters that are not treated in the book! This may drive you crazy a few days before the exam you may imagine:) I notwithstanding commend the book to everyone who has not more expected values than using it as a rough basis on which one will need to add a lot of further and added details, …and syndromes. For now, do we have any better concise book?
