About Victorinox
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus started out what would become the global brand name Victorinox, a combining of Victoria, for Elsener’s mother, and “inox,” or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox gives rise to watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The basi product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women buying goods in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

5Now THATS a Knife
By Andrew J. Otto
I have been carrying a Swiss Champ for the last 15 years. As a computer consultant, electronics hobbyist, woodworker, and Scout leader I use the knife constantly.

5The best Victorinox I’ve ever owned.
By Christopher Adams
I’ve owned assorted Victorinox knives over the years and this one by far is the most satisfying and versatile one I’ve ever owned. It is a beauty to behold and all the tools are well organized. A nice touch is the multiple bit screwdriver tool which has been designed not to fold closed as without apparent effort as the rest of the tools. This prevents it from without intention snapping shut underneath hard pressure or extra torque. It’s idealisti for me because I work on computers rather a bit so it’s got all the tools I would want or need. In regard to the size or width, it is almost twice as wide as my old Victorinox but I don’t in truth detect it as much. It has a nice solid feel in the hand and the heft is impressive. I didn’t think I would like the translucent plastic as much as I do. I highly commend this to any individual mesmerized in a high-end and authentic swiss army knife.

5Impressed!
By Chris P. Gibbs
I have owned a Swiss Army knife for as long as I may remember- from the Camping to the Swisschamp. The Swisschamp has been around the world with me over the past 10 years!

That said, this knife is the best that they offer. While more prominent than the Swisschamp, it provides each tool that you could need- and it was time for an upgrade…

I would, however, commend a belt holder with this as it is too big for the pocket- but then this is not actually a true “pocket knife”…more a “multi-tool”…!
