Matrix Concepts Tray Worx Stand

Have you ever seen candles that look as if they are made with dissimilar squares of wax inset into a wax matrix, and wondered if you too could make them? These “chunk candles” make a colorful and vibrant substitute to the ordinary boring pillar candle, and best of all, they are actually rather easy to make.

Even even though they look as if they would be difficult to make, the opposite is true. For one thing, they don’t have to be as utterly smooth and consistent as pillar candles. In fact any little visual defects on the candle’s surface just add to the charm of chunk candles. Once you are comfortable with the fundamentals of candle making, you will have perfectly no disturb making these.

Chunk candles are made in two stages. These steps or processes must be held separate, taking time to finish the basi before you start out the second step. The basi step is to make the chunks. The second step puts the chunks together into your distinctive and colorful candle. Some craft stores will offer chunks, but you have much more choice and control of your candle’s aspect if you make your own.

First of all, select two or three colors of dye that supplement each other. You may keep one color for the second step or merely use plain wax for the second step. Melt wax for the original step, adding the dye and any fragrance you want once the wax is totally melted. Spray a cookie sheet or a tray with non-stick spray, and pour the colored wax onto it. If you want inch chunks, then fill it an inch deep.

Once the wax has cooled to a doughy consistency, use a sharp utility knife to cut it into chunks. Allow the chunks to finish cooling. Separate the altogether cooled chunks, and set them aside. If you want chunks in two colors, then you will need to repeat this process, using your second dye color. It may be a good idea to make various colors of wax chunks in one session, since you may store them until you are ready to use them.

For the second step in making chunk candles, you will need a pillar mold, with the wick inserted and set with resolute determination in place. Now, fill the mold loosely with color chunks. Use one color, or mix and match complementary colors. You may mix them up or add them in layers. Just be careful not to neatly stack them up. They must be added randomly, and let lie just where they fall.

Now, for the second step, you will melt wax again, either keeping it undyed or dyed in a coordinating color. If you do use colored wax, keep it a light color – just scarcely tinted – so the colored chunks stand out. Pour the melted wax over the color chunks, filling the mold right to the top. The hot wax will hold the chunks together, filling in the spaces amidst them. Once the candle has altogether cooled, your chunk candle must slide out easily.

If you want to get even more originative with this process, embed a heap of ornamental constituents in the outer circumference of the candle. Place them in the mold as you are putting the chunks in, keeping them to the sides of the mold. You could add colored glass pebbles, sea shells, dried seeds or even slices of dried fruit. Just make sure they are not flammable.

As you may see, making chunk candles does not have to be a difficult process, once you have basic candle making conceptions down pat. These beautiful and totally distinguishable candles will add a great deal of flair to any decor, and persons will love to receive them as gifts.
